Beth Rice "Sewn Stories"

The Yellow Wall Gallery at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore is pleased to present "Sewn Stories", an exhibition of hand embroidery and textiles by local craft artist Beth Rice. Beth presents a collection of hand embroidery on fabric that are inspired by old children's illustrations, maps and nature. Lush forests, rocky coasts, stitched forms, and a cabin in the woods are often featured in the work. The resulting imagery presented with fabric and thread is creative and often dream-like. Also, Beth Rice is the bookstore and cafe manager at Midtown Scholar Bookstore and Famous Reading Cafe.

The exhibition will be at the gallery January 18, 2011 through February 13, 2011. A reception for the artist will occur on January 21, 2010 from 6-9pm at the gallery. Light refreshments will be served.
